- I've cut off the non-functional cable and just kept the eXplorist and USB connectors.
- I've connected both ends (eXplorist and USB) as shown on the schema.
- I've bought a USB home charger and a USB car charger.

eXplorist 500 charger fix
Magellan eXplorist 500, while being very good tourist GPS, has a serious problem - its power cable. Most eXplorist owners know that this cable stops working well before the end of life of the GPS itself. As this model is already sold out for some time, it is difficult to find a cable replacement. So I've decided to try to fix it myself. This is, what I've done:
